This project is an ongoing exercise in adapting historical fabric patterns for modern use. I love the beautiful--and sometimes strange--cotton prints of the mid 19th century. The original designs range from abstract organic shapes to eye-dazzling optical illusions. I use these repeating patterns as a basis for adaptations that feature cute animals and modern color palettes.
